Woody Wayne Turnbow, 79, of Haskell, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Amarillo. A Memorial Service will be held, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Church of Christ with Philip Sims officiating. Private burial has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Woody was born May 21, 1942, in Haskell, Texas, the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Turnbow and Myrtle Greene Turnbow. On July 1, 1960, he married the love of his life, Georgia Gray Turnbow in Weinert, Texas. He served in the Army for 8 ½ years, and then was a self-employed farmer until his retirement. Woody was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandsons, Levi Keith Sorrells and Eli Quinton Sorrells.
Woody is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Turnbow of Haskell; daughter, Twyla Sorrells and husband Tom of Haskell; sons, Greg Turnbow of Midland, TX; Eric Turnbow and wife Tina of Garland, TX; brother, Perry Turnbow and wife Jeanie of Denison, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lukas Sorrells, Tabitha Sorrells, Lydia Larsen and husband Owen, Caleb Sorrells and wife Paige, Eve Sorrells, Mark Turnbow, Matthew Turnbow, Michael Gonzalez, Celeste Hernandez, Lindsey Strickland and husband Taryn, Jerika Turnbow, Terra Turnbow; great grandchildren, Anthony, Belin, Issac, Isaiah, Evelyn, Thomas, Lorelei; and a host of dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Church of Christ, 510 North Avenue E, Haskell, Texas 79521 or a charity of your choice.
