Sherry Nell Whitaker

Sherry Nell Whitaker, 68, life-long resident of Haskell, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 in Abilene. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Haskell with Elder Gene Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 from 6:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Sherry Nell was born August 27, 1955 in Haskell, Texas, the daughter of the late Tom Whitaker and Versie Adams Whitaker. She worked in home health as a nurse’s aide. For 15 years she worked for Gibson HealthCare Center in Aspermont. Sherry Nell enjoyed taking care of others and cleaning house. She liked watching tv, and little dogs. She especially loved her grandchildren and family. Sherry was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Minnie Adams; aunts, Doris Adams, Lillie Hunter, and Anna Clara Whitaker.

Sherry is survived by her son, Robert E. Johnson, Jr. and wife Betty of Aspermont; grandchildren, Marissa Johnson, Robert Earl Johnson, III, Isaiah Johnson, Kendrick Johnson; numerous cousins, extended family and a host of dear friends.
