Roy Bryan Washburn

Roy Bryan Washburn, 83, of Haskell, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Haskell Healthcare Center. A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Friday, December 29, 2023 at Roberts Cemetery with Bro. Dusty Garison officiating. Services are under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Roy was born January 1, 1940, in Greenville, Texas, the son of the late Collins Reid Washburn and Olney Ione Black Washburn. On November 26, 1977, he married Judy Mapes in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Haskell in 1984, when he was transferred with Lone Star Gas Co. He retired in 1997 after 39 years. Roy was a member of the Haskell Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Washburn of Haskell; sons, Chris Washburn of Haskell; Scott Washburn of Abilene; Mark Washburn of Abilene; Jim Washburn of Abilene; daughter, Janet Washburn of Abilene; sister, Peggy Jean Layher of Merkel; 11 grandchildren, extended family and a host of dear friends.
