Larry W. Short

Larry W. Short, 66, of Haskell, passed away, Monday, April 10, 2017 in Abilene. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, April 14, 2017 at the First Assembly of God with Brother J.C. Amburn and Brother Carl Amburn officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell. Condolences may be made a www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Larry was born February 12, 1951, in Haskell, TX, the son of J.C. Short and Zetta Lee Tidrow. On June 8, 1968, he married Shirley Roberts in Haskell, TX. For 35 years, he worked for WTU as an operator/supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his farm animals. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Larry is survived by wife, Shirley Short of Rochester, TX; children, Kimberly Meier and husband Kevin of Clyde, TX; Bobby Short of Haskell, TX; Jonathan Short of Rochester, TX; mother, Zetta Lee Dutton; sister, Cindy Short of Baird, TX; brother, Clifford Short and wife Mynea of Haskell; grandchildren, Skyler Stone, Kaegan Petty and husband Jake, Bo Wimberly, Drucilla Meier, Will Meier, Jess Meier, Wesley Short, Thomas Short, Leland Short, Krista Hill; great-grandchild, Presley Short and one on the way, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
