Larry W. Reed

Larry W. Reed, 80, of Haskell, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Larry was born November 23, 1944, the son of the late Wayne Justus Reed and Stella Martina Looper Reed. On December 22, 1962, he married Patricia Ann Price, in Sulphur Springs, TX. He retired from farming in 1999, after dedicating over 50 years to his career, having started his farming journey at the age of 18. Outside of farming, he found joy in woodworking, crafting metal art through welding, and was known for his creative tinkering. He delighted in karaoke sessions at home and cherished singing Christian hymns on Sundays. Gardening was another of his passions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his siblings.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia Reed of Haskell; 7 children; Teresa Sorrells and husband Jeff of Rule, Tx, Larry L. Reed and wife Theresa of Abilene, Tx, Garry Reed and wife Cyndi of Clyde, Tx, John Reed and wife Maricela of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Angela Markunas of Thackerville, Ok, Mary Biesecker and husband Tim of Houston, Tx, Randall Reed and wife Michelle of Hutto, TX; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

The family would like to thank the loving staff at Hendricks Hospice Care Abilene for the care and support they provided for Larry and the family during his final days.
