Joe Crawford Blake, 91, of Plano, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, TX with Dusty Garison officiating, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Ave D, Haskell, Texas. Joe was born July 11, 1933, in Haskell, Texas, to Francis Blake and Eula Mae Kurfees Blake-Steen. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1953. He then attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock until enlisting in the United States Army in January 1955. Following two years of service to his country, he then began his 32 plus year career as a Field Engineer with Collins Radio Company in Richardson, TX which included traveling abroad to Jordan, Pakistan, and Taiwan to perform his duties. Along the way, he acquired his pilot’s license. Joe loved to tinker with electronics and dedicated an entire room in his home for such. His greatest passion was to repair anything electronic, and he especially loved old radios.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his brother, Bill Blake and Pat of Plano, TX; nephew, Brent Crawford Blake and Deanne of Frisco, TX; niece, Julie Blake Rogers and James of Frisco, TX; and his great nephews, Allen Blake, Blake Rogers, and Ryan Rogers.
