Jimmy D. White, 75, of Haskell, TX, went to his heavenly home, April 25, 2017 in the Munday Nursing Center. Jimmy was born September 6, 1941, in Haskell County, Texas, to the late D.I. White and Mattie (Jones) White. Jimmy attended School in Weinert, Texas.
He fell in love with his neighbor, Gayle Davis at a very early age. They were sweethearts their entire life and married July 29, 1960. Jimmy attended Cisco Junior College for one year and then farmed his entire life.
Jimmy loved to hunt coyotes and rabbits with his greyhounds. Many hours were spent with his three children hunting. He also loved to raise pigs so that his children could show them. He was a member of the Haskell Church of Christ. He loved to sing and was the song leader at Knox City and Haskell for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Chrystal Tankersley Robison, and sister-in-law, LouAnna Warden.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Gayle White of 57 years; 3 children, Kyle White and wife Loutina of Haskell; Kristi Tankersley and husband Payton of Knox City; Kevin White and wife Amy of Knox City; 7 grandchildren, Jaxon White of Haskell, Daniel Earle and wife Jordan of Knox City; Brian Tankersley and wife Heather of Canyon, Brook Tankersley of Knox City; Brylee, Brogan and Brody White of Knox City, great grandchildren, Paitlyn and Jaxon Tankersley of Canyon; Carver and Kalei Tankersley of Knox City, Kaleb Whittle of Floydada and, Emmett Daniel Earle of Knox City, who is expected to be born May 30th. He is also survived by sister, Sue Hackney and husband Jim of Ft. Worth; brother and sisters-in-law, J.B and Carolyn Griffin of Abilene, Don and Linda Bunton of Abilene, Rodney and Peggy Hamon of Tuscola, Chris Warden of San Antonio, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A visitation and celebration of Jimmy's life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Wooden Nickel, 112 South Central, Knox City, Texas.
