James Michael Peters, 60, of Abilene, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in Abilene. A graveside service will be 2 pm, Friday, 11, 2017 at Howard Cemetery with Bro. Doug Roysdon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Mike was born December 19, 1956 in Stamford, Texas, the son of James Peters and Judy McGary. After 30 years, he retired from Byrd Oilfield as an operator. He was a hard worker and strong-willed. He enjoyed building cars and racing. Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister Beverly Watson and brother, Kenny Peters.
Mike is survived by his mother, Judy Davis of Haskell; sister, Darla Davis of Haskell; sons, Michael Aaron Peters, James Michael Peters, II; Jeffery Alan and Melinda Peters all of Abilene; wife, Kim Shaw of Abilene; 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
