Howell Christopher Stone, 64 passed away Thursday January 23, 2020 in Haskell, Texas. Viewing will be 10:00am to 7:00pm on Friday January 24, 2010 at Haskell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00am on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Knox City Cemetery with Pastor Roger Keck officiating under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Ave D, Haskell, Texas. Chris was born June 1, 1955 and adopted by H.C. and Mary Howell Stone during his adolescent years and was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
Howell was a dedicated father, husband and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Howell was a true animal lover as well and his pets were always very well loved and taken care of including any strays in the area. Howell truly enjoyed his grandchildren. They were the light of his world. As a dedication to Howell his second great-grandchild will bear his name will be born in May. In his younger years Howell's passion was building his cars and seeing how fast he could make them go and see if his daddy could catch him. Howell was dedicated and truly loved his wife Margie. The two were rarely seen apart from each other. Howell was deeply loved by his family and will forever be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Susan Stone; Leona Chatman and brother, Jesse Chatman.
Survivors include his wife, Margie, a son; Christopher Adam Stone and his wife, Stephany of Port Angeles, WA., daughter; Heather McCray and husband, Daniel, three stepsons; Thomas and Jason Valdez both of Austin, Jonathan Valdez and wife, Nicholette of Abilene. Grandchildren are Hannah Stone, Chase Stone, Shawn Parenti, Haylee Wood, Landon Wood, Teagan McCray, Aden Valdez, Noah Valdez, Adalynn Valdez and Noelle Valdez; great granddaughter is Paisley Stone. Siblings are Cindy Potts and husband, Roger, Cherokee James, Jimmy Stodghill, Roger Keck, Wayne Chatman, Clifford Chatman, Steve Chatman, Johnny Chatman, Jimmy Chatman; sisters, Dusti Noblitt, Diane Michaels, Dolly Martinez and Rosa Denny.
