Helen Ann Reid, 76, of Haskell, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2024 in Haskell. A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Friday, June 14, 2024 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Bro. Chris Betts officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at

Helen was born August 15, 1947 in Knox City, Texas, the daughter of the late Oscar Rueffer and Pauline Nauert Rueffer. She was baptized in the Haskell Lutheran Church. Helen graduated from Haskell High School in 1965 and later attended TSTC, earning an associate’s degree in IMB Secretarial. After returning to Haskell, she worked at Rice Springs Care Home, and later with Stamford Home Health. Helen was a member of the Sons of Hermann in Irby. She enjoyed fishing, word searches, crossword puzzles, and reading romance novels. Helen loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jack Rueffer.
Helen is survived by her life partner, Theo Scott of Haskell; son, Leland Reid and wife Amanda of Knox City, TX; daughter, Kellie Steadham of Haskell, TX; grandchildren, Justice Dever and Alexis Alverado of Lubbock, TX; Michael Steadham of Haskell, TX; Benjamin Rodriguez and Zoe Reid both of Knox City, Texas; Craig Berryman and wife Barbara of New York; Joseph Berryman, Sr. and wife Crystal of Bertram, TX; great, grandchildren, Kingstyn Coleman, M.J. Dever, both of Lubbock, TX; Joseph Berryman, Jr., Jordan Berryman and Jonathan Berryman all of Bertram, TX; brother, Charlie Rueffer and wife Debbie of Munday, TX; sister, Bernice Hooska and husband Jim of Mitchell, SD; sister-in-law, Sally Rueffer of Brazoria, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
