Harley Fuan Langford, 92, of Haskell, passed away, Friday, June 21, 2024 in Abilene. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at East Side Baptist Church with Bro. Dan Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery, Haskell, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 6:00-7:30pm at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Harley was born April 18, 1932 in Cameron, Texas, the son of the late Clinton Langford and Ruby Baxter Langford. He grew up in Haskell where he farmed until joining the United States Army. He actively served from January 1953 through December 1954 as a corporal where he earned a National Defense Service Medal. He then served the following 4 years in the Army Reserves. On May 10, 1999, he married Opal Clark Langford in Merkel, Texas. Last month, they celebrated their silver wedding anniversary of loving each other for 25 years. Before retiring, Harley worked in the trucking industry. He could often be found tinkering in his shop and rebuilding motors. He loved the outdoors including working on the farm or in the garden. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed car shows. Harley never met a stranger and loved to visit anyone he came into contact with.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Tammy Parham and Penny Langford; son, Lonnie Langford; brothers, R C Langford, Clinton Langford, Doyle Langford, and Loyle Langford.

Harley is survived by his wife, Opal Clark Langford of Haskell, TX; sons, Scott Langford and wife Betsy of Haskell, TX, Matt Langford of Dallas, TX, and Danny Letterman and wife Lori of Palestine, TX; grandchildren, Jason Langford of Haskell, TX, Jodi Graven and husband Mat of Clyde, TX, Taylor Letterman and wife Garland of Austin, TX, Cody Letterman of Austin, TX, Hailey Tomlin and husband Bryce of Gilmer, TX, Tabitha Pierce and husband Wade of Anna, TX, Andrea Anderson of Fort Worth, TX, Crow Parham of Lakewood, CO; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Margie Cardwell of Fort Worth, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, P O Box 1922, Abilene, TX 79601.
