Edward F. Isbell, "Eddie", 63, of Aspermont, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 in Abilene. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Central Baptist Church, Aspermont, TX. A private family burial has taken place. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, Haskell, TX.
Eddie was born October 29, 1951 in Haskell, TX, the son of Tommie Isbell and Anna Harrington. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam Era as a door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. On July 15, 1977, he married the love of his life Nita Powers in Aspermont, TX. From the time he was a teenager, he worked in the oilfield. Eddie and his family resided in Sterling City for 20 years, prior to moving back to Aspermont. For the last 17 years, they have lived on their ranch in Stonewall County. Eddie enjoyed music, and had been a part of many different bands throughout the years. He loved to play the guitar, write music and sing. Eddie was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. He had strong convictions and shared them often. Eddie never met a stranger and would visit with anyone. He was a mentor to young people and became a father figure to many. Eddie was passionate about God, family and country.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Isbell, mother, Anna Marshall and brother Todd Isbell.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Nita Isbell; son Joseph Edward Isbell and wife Kristin of Aspermont; daughter, Angela Danita Isbell-Swan and husband John of Haskell; mother, Mary Isbell of Haskell; siblings, Tonnie, Donna, Mary Ann, Karen Sue, Gary, Eva, Warner and Owena. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and a host of dear friends.
