Eathen was born November 28, 2000 in Abilene, Texas, the son of Erich and Kimberly Barnes Reid. In 2020, he graduated from Haskell High School and for the past three years had been working with the family business, Reid Roofing. Some may say he had been roofing since he could drag a hammer. On Sunday, August 20, 2023, he proposed to the love of his life, Alaina Bridges. Eathen loved going to football games and was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorn and Texas Rangers fan; and was looking forward to going to some games. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. Eathen took up the joy of cooking and wanted to cook for everyone at family gatherings. Playing cornhole, playing darts and listening to music were a few of his favorite past-times with his loved ones. Many times, he and his dad, Erich, would sit around listening to music and sing. Eathen never met a stranger, he loved people and had a giving heart. If it meant giving the last of what he had to help someone else, he would. Above all he was a Christian and loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Claude and Rosa Reynolds, Woodrow and June Reid; grandfather, James Barnes, Sr; uncle, Ernest Duff; and baby cousin, Ezekiel Reid.

Eathen is survived by his parents Erich and Kim Reid of Haskell; fiancé, Alaina Bridges of Haskell; brother, Nathan Reid and wife Alyssa of Abilene; grandparents, Ronald and Henny Stanford of Haskell; Sandra Barnes of Haskell; Woody Reid of Abilene; mother and father-in-law, Kerry and Ronnie Bridges of Hamlin; sister-in-law, Amanda Justice and husband Levi of Abilene; brother-in-law, Ty Bridges and wife Trinity of the United Kingdom; nephews and niece, Andrew Reid, Vincent Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia, Rhett Justice and Lane Justice. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, June and Bill Holley of Haskell; Tina and Billy Enriquez of Abilene; Josh and Cary Reid of McKinney; Jeremiah and Malinda Reid of Haskell; Brandon Reid of Haskell; James Barnes of Haskell; Claude Barnes of Haskell; and Jason and Tarina Barnes of Hico; numerous cousins, extended family and countless friends.
