Derryl Gene Strickland, 73, of Rochester, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Ft. Worth. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, TX, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell. Derryl was born June 24, 1943, in Goree, TX, the son of the late Marion Edward Strickland and Pearl Pauline Hargrove Strickland. He was an automotive mechanic and service manager for 50 plus years in Texas and Oklahoma. Derryl was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting but he loved nothing more than to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Doris Woodall and Iris Monk.
Derryl is survived by children, Randy Strickland of Brownwood, TX; Greg Strickland of Springtown, TX; Leland Strickland of San Angelo, TX; Douglas Strickland of Benbrook, TX with first wife Patricia Rose of Rochester; Monty Strickland of Purcell, OK; Mark Strickland of Mustang, OK; Monica Ashby of Nashville, TN with second wife Pamela Hillard of Moore, OK; brother, Doyle Strickland of Rochester, TX; Evelyn Hicks of Abilene, TX; Regina Lane of Grandbury, TX; 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
