Alyson Leigh Fisher

July 4, 1965 — January 29, 2025

Arlington

Alyson Leigh Fisher, 59, of Arlington, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 29, 2025. A Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Willow Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hevrin officiating under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Ave D, Haskell, Texas 79521. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Alyson was born July 4, 1965, in Bourne, Massachusetts to Lewis Budd Fisher and Helen Kimbrough Fisher. Her family moved to Fairfield, California and she grew up mostly in Abilene and Munday, Texas. Even early in life she enjoyed a variety of activities that extended her whole life: sports, band, repairing and rebuilding cars, carpentry, leather work, riding her Harley Davidson, traveling, and her beloved cats. She graduated from Munday High School in 1983. Following high school, she attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education, then went on to earn her Master’s of Education from North Texas State University in Denton. She worked at several banks and a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation before discovering her true passion for helping children as a kindergarten teacher and an elementary school counselor. She worked for Arlington ISD, De Soto ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, as well as a state mental health and rehabilitation center until health issues forced her into retirement. Even in retirement, she pursued her interests, kept up with family, and was always supportive of the youngest family members. She had a heart as big as Texas, evident by how much she deeply cared about her family, friends, and kitty cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Fisher and Helen Homer; stepfather, Philip Homer; aunts Anna Kimbrough and Ella Stewart; uncles Clint and Joe Kimbrough and AJ Stewart; cousins Marceil Moore and Larry Kimbrough.

Alyson is survived by her sister, Kelly Fisher; aunts Jennabeth Kimbrough and Lynda Flippin; cousins Catherine Carby, Rosemary Hunter, Nancy Bassham, Jay and Jeff Stewart, Jerri Sue Hord, Judy Drinnon, Mike New, Lisa Teague, Vickie Stafford, and Joey Kimbrough, as well as many extended family members and a host of dear friends.

In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to JackofAllCats.org in Fort Worth, Texas.
